What a Library Card Does
The library card is a physical copy of your membership in the WVLN library system. Having a library card with the Doddridge County Public Library means that you also have a card with every library in the WVLN System. Check with your librarian to make sure that you do not already have a card from another library in this system.
In addition to allowing you to check out books, having a library card through the Doddridge County Public Library allows you to access hundreds of eBooks, download 3 free songs a month, use a free version of Ancestry.com, access free practice versions of all of the major tests, and much more.
What is Needed to get a Library Card
To get a library card, patrons must complete an application and present a proof of address. The application contains basic personal information, such as birth date and name, in addition to requiring that patrons have the last 4 digits of their social security number and the contact information for someone who does not live in their household. Patrons should come prepared with this information. The proof of address can be any piece of mail or a driver's license.
